Cartaz de Propaganda "Esteja Sempre Preparado Para os Ataques Oportunistas do Exército Gangster de Chiang Kai-Shek", 1949, China

Cartaz de Propaganda "Esteja Sempre Preparado Para os Ataques Oportunistas do Exército Gangster de Chiang Kai-Shek", 1949, China
Cartaz - 43x90 - 1949

"Always be prepared for the opportunistic attacks of Chiang Kai-Shek's Gangster Army."
The image depicting the modern communists armed forces from the Army, Airforce, and Navy guarding the waters against a cartoon depiction of a small speeding pirate like boat, named U.S. (United States) with Chiang Kai-Shek shaking his cutlass, around him 3 of his rather old soldiers, an old fashioned landlord figure, a warlord, and a gangster figure in dark glasses, the tattered flag pole on the speeding boat reading "Counter attack the Mainland. The Chinese text painted below the scene, with the final 4 characters replaced with a pasted over section reading, "Gangster Army." The image matted with a color printed proof of the poster image, without the text, mounted on the reverse side. 235 x 650mm. The two parts framed and glazed.
A very fine piece of Chinese Propaganda Art, drawn up to be produced as a poster, just at the time Chiang Kai-Shek had moved the "Republic of China" Government under KMT (Nationalist Party of China) to the Island of Taiwan, to avoid its complete destruction by Communist Forces. Communist China used propaganda at the highest levels to communicate to the people of China. This example has some of the key attributes of a good propaganda poster, the simplicity of the idea, embodied in a strong visual scene, with some comedic elements to downgrade ones opponents. To anyone looking at the finished poster it served to both warn, belittle and mock anyone from Taiwan thinking of coming back to a China, strongly defended by the youthful soldiers, sailors and airmen of the Chinese Armed Forces.
Nota do blog: Cartaz utilizado pela China como propaganda anti-Taiwan.
