O prédio da esquina à esquerda foi construído em 1814 e demolido em 1915, para a construção do Edifício Martinelli. Nesse prédio funcionou, por volta do ano de 1860 o Hotel Itália Brasil e, até 1915, o popular Café Brandão.

Shelby No. 0643, this 1967 Shelby GT500 coupe from the John Justo Collection is a premiere example of its kind, having earned a number of prestigious SAAC awards. Shelby’s formula for the GT changed drastically for 1967, most notably in the visual distinction from the standard Mustang with a new, aggressive front-end treatment featuring a deep grille containing driving lights beneath a twin-scooped fiberglass hood, upper and lower body side scoops and an integrated rear spoiler above Cougar tail lights.
The Shelby Registry shows 0643 was delivered new to University Ford Sales in Champaign, Illinois on February 14, 1967 and sold to its first owner on July 16 of that year. Factory finished in the unusual mixture of Dark Blue Metallic paint with Wimbledon White Le Mans stripes and a Parchment interior, it was powered by the Ford Police Interceptor 428 CI big block V-8 with dual inline Holley 600 CFM 4-barrel carburetors on an aluminum intake manifold, finned aluminum Cobra valve covers and air cleaner, and equipped with a Toploader 4-speed manual transmission, power steering and power brakes with front discs and Magstar chromed 5-spoke wheels; interestingly, it reportedly still retained the factory-original Goodyear Speedway 350 tires until 2002.
This GT500 began taking home the hardware as early as 1986, when it earned a concours award at SAAC 11 in Dearborn, Michigan, in July of that year. More concours awards followed at SAAC 12 (Charlotte, July 1987) and SAAC 13 (Santa Rosa, California, August 1988). The car subsequently was awarded Premier Division honors at SAAC 14 (Pocono, Pennsylvania, July 1989) and SAAC 15 (Dearborn, Michigan, July 1990). One of only 47 produced with its specific combination of color, trim and mechanicals, Shelby No. 0643 received a full concours restoration in 2007 and still presents in outstanding overall condition. It is offered with fulsome documentation that includes an entry in the Shelby Registry, original Shelby documents and a Marti Report, and it features Carroll Shelby’s famous signature on the glovebox door.
