Presented in a stunning Darian Blue with a matching blue interior of wool upholstery and Wilton carpeting, this 1941 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe is one of only 1,150 Model 72 Zephyr three-window coupes produced in 1941. Having undergone a body-off restoration in 2003, it presents with magnificent beauty, the paint and brightwork offering extremely high levels of reflectivity and depth, and the interior appearing better than it did when new. Details upon details could well describe this Zephyr with the red “Lincoln” signature upon the chrome wheel covers matching delicate red detailing on the bumper guards and trunk handle. Powered by the famous 292 CI Lincoln V-12 with a 3-speed manual transmission, the Zephyr line originally sought to fill the price gap between the high-end Lincoln Model K and the Ford Deluxe, with Mercury filling the span even further. It was a marketing concept not dissimilar to Cadillac’s LaSalle or Packard’s One-Twenty with an aero-styled design that competed with Chrysler’s Airflow. Interestingly, the Zephyr proved to have a lower drag coefficient than the Chrysler, thanks to the lower beltline, more rakish windscreen and swept grille and nose treatment originally meant to mimic wooden speedboats, which were hugely popular in the era. The popularity of wood was not lost on the stylists either, as the entire dashboard was wood grain with gold trim, which highlighted the upscale nature of the Lincoln brand. Further interesting about the Zephyr, while it competed with the upscale, entry-level models such as the One-Twenty, LaSalle and Airflow, it was the only one available with a V-12 engine. The ultra-swept styling, V-12 engine and markedly restrained use of chrome embellishments largely put the Zephyr over the top with luxury buyers. This Zephyr will be sold with restoration photos, receipts, Zephyr dealership brochures and a V-12 manual.

Gorgeous in black with tan cloth interior and silver racing stripes, this 1997 Ford Mustang GT coupe looks mostly factory original on the outside, but it has been enhanced in many ways on the inside, starting under the hood with a Vortech supercharger added to the fuel-injected 4.6L V-8 engine. With just more than 67,000 miles, the GT is a nice example of the second-generation Fox-body Mustang, which went through a major redesign for 1994 that strengthened the chassis and massaged the sheet metal into the revamped “It is what it was” look that more closely resembled the Mustangs from the 1960s. Vintage cues included a mouthy grille opening, side scalloping that ended with faux brake-cooling scoops and tri-bar tail lights, plus an interior with a flowing instrument panel to bring back the first-generation Mustang’s dual-cockpit look. The GT model was powered exclusively by a V-8 engine; for 1997, it was Ford’s 2-valve modular 4.6L factory rated at 215 HP. In GT form, the 1997 Mustang came with fog lights mounted in the front valance, rear spoiler, 16-inch wheels, 4-way power driver’s seat and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Right off the assembly line, this Mustang GT was nicely equipped with 5-speed manual transmission, air conditioning, cruise control, tinted glass and power steering, brakes, windows and door locks. The Vortech supercharger provides plenty of added kick, with a Centerforce clutch transferring the power to the 3.73:1-geared rear differential. A Flowmaster dual exhaust gives the GT its distinct “Mustang sound.” Exterior enhancements include Altezza taillights, billet grille and aluminum Voxx Racing 10-spoke wheels mounted with Kumho ECSTA Supra radial tires. Inside, the GT has been updated with a Hurst short-throw shifter with carbon-fiber-look accents, Auto Meter tachometer and Pioneer stereo.

Featuring an all-steel body, this Deluxe Coupe has traveled only 43,281 believed-original miles from new. Under the hood is the 24-stud 221 CI V-8 fed by a downdraft carburetor, producing 85 HP and 155 lb-ft of torque with 6.15:1 compression. A column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels, and an oil-bath air cleaner keeps things sparkly within. When collector Bruce Church initially bought this car, it was solid Folkstone Gray. Early in his life, Bruce’s family had a two-tone Deluxe Coupe in Folkstone Gray and Mandarin Maroon, so he had the fenders and running boards painted Mandarin Maroon out of sentimentality. The two-tone Deluxe Fords were brought about midyear in 1940 to boost spring sales. Called the Spring Specials, they were offered in several two-tone variants: Folkstone Gray body and wheels with black fenders and grille sides; Folkstone Grey body and wheels with Mandarin Maroon fenders and grille sides; Mandarin Maroon body and wheels with Folkstone Gray fenders and grille sides; and Cloud Mist Gray body and wheels with Acadia Green fenders and grille sides. Ford required dealers to order specific accessories for the Spring Special cars such as license-plate frames, fender skirts, at least one sideview mirror, a locking gas cap, Ford-script white sidewall tires, visor vanity mirror, oil-bath air cleaner, wheel trim rings, seat covers or leather upholstery option, a radio, a heater, bumper end tips, front- and rear-bumper center guards or grille guards, and either a spotlight, road lamps or both. The Spring Specials were hugely well-appointed, short-lived package cars that are rarely heard of, even in Ford circles. This Deluxe Coupe has Amber fog lamps, clock, radio with antenna, vanity mirror, color-matched steel wheels, chrome Ford Deluxe hubcaps, trim rings and wide whitewall tires.
