The small “428” engine-displacement emblems on the front fenders tell you what you need to know about this 1968 Torino GT fastback. When Ford introduced the 428 Cobra Jet engine in April 1968, the CJ-powered Mustang got the glory after its much-publicized Super Stock victory at the NHRA Winternationals. Less known is the fact that Ford’s new muscle-car engine was also available as a non-Ram Air R-code in Fairlane/Torinos and Mercury Montegos. Due to the late model-year introduction, only a handful of Cobra Jets found their way into 1968 Fords, including just 661 for the Torino GT according to Marti’s database. This 1968 Torino GT is one of those rare supercars. The subject of a nut-and-bolt restoration to like-new condition, the CJ Torino comes with restoration receipts, the original build sheet and a Deluxe Marti Report, which confirms its Cobra Jet pedigree and documents that it was sold new at Carey Paul Ford in Atlanta. Highland Green with a Nugget Gold bench-seat interior, the Torino GT is also equipped with a column-shift C6 automatic transmission, 9-inch rear axle with limited-slip 3.50 gears, power steering, power front disc brakes and an AM radio. Restyled for 1968, the Fairlane also gained a Torino subseries as an upscale version of Ford’s popular intermediate. As a GT model, this 1968 Cobra Jet Torino is identified by GT C-stripe decals and styled steel wheels with GT center caps. At the beginning of the 1968 model year, the 390 was the top engine for the Fairlane/Torino. That changed at midyear with the addition of the 428 Cobra Jet, an updated Police Interceptor big-block with low-riser 427 heads, 390 GT camshaft, Holley 735 CFM 4-barrel carburetor and low-restriction exhaust manifolds for a purposefully underrated 335 HP. CJ-powered Torinos also came with stiffer springs and shocks, and a larger front sway bar as well.

Dodge Charger Daytona 1969, Estados Unidos

Interior : Preto
Fotografia

HIGHLIGHTS
·         1 of 503 Dodge Daytonas produced
·         440 CI V-8 engine
·         4-barrel carburetor
·         Dual exhaust
·         Torqueflite transmission
·         Power steering
·         Yellow with Black interior
·         Bucket seats and center console
·         Pushbutton radio
·         Woodgrain console applique
·         14x6 styled road wheels
·         Redline tires

Of all the cars to emerge from the 1960s, the 1969 Dodge Daytona literally has no equal. This example is one of 503 Dodge Charger Daytonas produced that summer to homologate this body for NASCAR racing, and unlike the later Road Runner-based Superbird, the Daytona was built around the aerodynamic Charger 500. Adding its special nose and rear wing were among other changes done at subcontractor Creative Industries. Under the hood is a 440 Magnum V-8 engine with the 4-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust, backed by a Torqueflite automatic transmission. The car is finished in the scarcely seen combination of Y2 Yellow with black stripe and black interior. It is also equipped with power steering. Inside are headrest-topped bucket seats and center console with wood-grain applique, chrome floor shift and pushbutton radio. In addition to 14x6-inch styled road wheels and redline tires, trim includes chrome exhaust tips, front fender scoops, flip-top gas cap and Daytona stripe lettering. Outrageous from day one and beautifully presented today, the special Dodge offered here remains exclusive.

The Chevrolet Cosworth Vega is a subcompact four-passenger automobile produced by Chevrolet for the 1975 and 1976 model years. It is a limited-production version of the Chevrolet Vega, with higher performance.
Chevrolet developed the car's all-aluminum inline-four 122 cu in (1,999 cc) engine, and British company Cosworth Engineeringdesigned the DOHC cylinder head. 5,000 engines were built.
3,508 cars were made. They were priced nearly double that of a base Vega and only $900 below the 1975 Chevrolet Corvette.
The Cosworth Vega came out of left field and showed the world that, indeed, Chevrolet could build a quality small car with a performance pedigree. A mere 2,061 were produced in 1975, and this one is number 549. Unrestored, it has only traveled 15,300 miles since it rolled out of the showroom and retains most of its original paint. The black and white interior is original, and an 8,000 RPM Sun tachometer keeps drivers informed of critical engine speeds. Outside, the black paint is complemented by gold trim—a signature item for the Cosworth Vega—including the wheels. The twin-cam, 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine is fed by a Bendix electronic fuel-injection system and breathes out of a stainless-steel header, while a 4-speed manual transmission ushers power to the rear wheels with ease. A torque-arm rear suspension offers a compliant ride and stable handling, and the entire package truly turned the mild-mannered Vega into a world-class machine. Passengers will enjoy the AM/FM radio and bucket seats. Cosworth Vegas are prized today for their blend of rarity and ‘70s small-car performance.
