This 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 from the outstanding Eddie Vannoy Collection is a stark reminder that America’s Sports Car is on a relentless track to maintain performance superiority in an ever-more crowded field of domestic and imported supercars. Chevrolet seems to have established a pattern of one-two punches with Corvette, following each introduction of a new generation with subsequent waves of power and performance. Just as it had in the C5 and C6 generations, in 2015, Chevrolet presented a new Z06 in the C7 Corvette’s second year of production, but the performance gap between the base and Z06 models was more pronounced than ever before.
Both models shared the same new and 60% stiffer aluminum frame and 6.2L all-aluminum V-8, but the Z06’s supercharger and dry-sump oiling system added another 195 HP for a total of 650, aided in its mission by a 7-speed manual transmission, a removable roof panel, front and rear aero devices, unique suspension with a wider track, wider wheels and more rubber, Magnetic Ride Control, unique front and rear bodywork, select carbon fiber panels with larger vents, electric power steering and an electronically controlled differential. Finished in Blade Silver, this 2015 Corvette Z06 coupe beckons occupants with a beautifully designed interior featuring a red-on-black combination with heated and ventilated Napa leather bucket seats, a 220 MPH speedometer and programmable 8,000 RPM digital readout tach, dual-zone climate control, navigation, a power tilt/telescopic steering wheel, a performance data and video recorder, universal home remote and MyLink Bose sound system.
But wait, Chevrolet said, there’s more: the Z07 Performance Package, available only on the Z06, which provided more grip in the form of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires on black Z06 alloy wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brake discs with painted calipers, a carbon fiber front splitter with larger winglets and carbon fiber side extenders, and an adjustable 59mm clear plastic Gurney flap. In other words, it’s all the “Right Stuff” to take the Z06 to the outer limits. Furthermore, this Z06 is serial number 3, one of the earliest production C7 Z06s built, and shows 276 miles since new. As the track-focused, ultra-performance version of the Ford’s new-generation Mustang, this Oxford White 2018 Ford Shelby GT350R marks a quantum leap from its legendary 1960s namesake. Power is delivered by Ford’s 5.2L Voodoo V-8 engine equipped with a flat-plane crank, good for a Ferrari-worthy 8,000 RPM redline. Delivering an awesome, wailing exhaust note to match, this awesome powerplant is factory-rated at 526 HP at 7,500 RPM and stands as the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine available from Ford to date. Delivering that power to the road is a lightweight Tremec 3160 6-speed manual transmission and 3.73:1 Torsen differential.
Other race-derived wizardry applied to the GT350R includes electric power steering with three driver-selectable modes, exotic composite iron-aluminum brake rotors supplied by Germany’s SHW and Brembo calipers. Formerly optional, the Code 920A Track Pack came standard on the 2018 GT350R, including the Magneride magnetic damping system, front shock-tower brace, higher-rate springs and oil coolers for the engine and transmission, plus a carbon-fiber rear wing and special lightweight carbon-fiber wheels mounting Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ultra-performance tires. Other features of this highly equipped GT350R include Track Apps, Launch Control/Line Lock, keyless entry, HID projector headlamps, an auto-dim rearview mirror, quad-tip exhaust outlets and much more. Options include blue “Over the Top” racing stripes with red accents and the comprehensive Electronics Package combining dual-zone climate control, AM/FM CD stereo with SiriusXM connectivity, Sync 3 system, tire inflator and sealant kit, and a voice-activated, touchscreen navigation system.
Offered in virtually new condition, this exceptionally well equipped GT350R retains its window sticker and the red-accented ebony interior is still protected by the factory-installed covers. Capable of amazing all-around performance, this 2018 Ford Shelby GT350R is a 7-mile, collector-grade example of one of the world’s best modern performance cars—bar none.

Cadillac Series 62 Convertible 1958, Estados Unidos

For 1958, Cadillac enhanced the design of its entire lineup, including the Series 62. Subtle changes made immense differences, the most noticeable being that of four headlights up front instead of only two. They were likely the glitziest of all the Cadillacs prior, with brightwork measured by the ton and giving them a truly bejeweled look. The new-for-1958 cleated grille was especially adept at lending a jeweled look, and the overall scene was absolutely surreal. While so many cars could appear pretentious or even gaudy adorning chrome and polished stainless ornamentation, the Cadillac exuded sophisticated elegance, like it was dressed for a black-tie affair and accessorized by the latest designer jewelry.
This Series 62 convertible is presented in gracefully reserved Alpine White with a blue power-operated convertible top, the exterior color motif entirely sustained inside. Powered by a 365 CI V-8 engine fed by the three 2-barrel “Tri-Power” carburetion system and backed by a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, the luxurious boulevard cruiser moves effortlessly. Passengers revel in the comfort of beautifully padded and upholstered seating, air conditioning that ensures hot days are kept at bay, power windows promising easy use and a power seat allowing simple adjustments. Offered very much as Cadillac built it, an AM radio provides the entertainment while an in-dash clock keeps schedules in check. Rolling on Coker American Classic wide whitewall tires wrapping chromed Cadillac Sabre wheels, the brightwork seems never ending yet completely at home, conveying a relaxed but dignified demeanor.
This car wears it all very well and is a multiple award winner. Cadillac began working on styling exercises for the 1957-58 models in early 1955, bringing to market many design elements seen in Motorama show cars. Introduced in 1957, the newly styled Series 62 immediately gained admirers. However, 1958 would see a relatively serious economic recession, which would spell slow sales for all auto makers that year. As such, Cadillac only built 7,825 Series 62 convertibles, marking it as fairly scarce.
