As the track-focused, ultra-performance version of the Ford’s
new-generation Mustang, this Oxford White 2018 Ford Shelby GT350R marks a
quantum leap from its legendary 1960s namesake. Power is delivered by Ford’s
5.2L Voodoo V-8 engine equipped with a flat-plane crank, good for a
Ferrari-worthy 8,000 RPM redline. Delivering an awesome, wailing exhaust note
to match, this awesome powerplant is factory-rated at 526 HP at 7,500 RPM and
stands as the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine available
from Ford to date. Delivering that power to the road is a lightweight Tremec
3160 6-speed manual transmission and 3.73:1 Torsen differential.
Other race-derived wizardry applied to the GT350R includes
electric power steering with three driver-selectable modes, exotic composite
iron-aluminum brake rotors supplied by Germany’s SHW and Brembo calipers.
Formerly optional, the Code 920A Track Pack came standard on the 2018 GT350R,
including the Magneride magnetic damping system, front shock-tower brace,
higher-rate springs and oil coolers for the engine and transmission, plus a
carbon-fiber rear wing and special lightweight carbon-fiber wheels mounting
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 ultra-performance tires. Other features of this
highly equipped GT350R include Track Apps, Launch Control/Line Lock, keyless
entry, HID projector headlamps, an auto-dim rearview mirror, quad-tip exhaust
outlets and much more. Options include blue “Over the Top” racing stripes with
red accents and the comprehensive Electronics Package combining dual-zone
climate control, AM/FM CD stereo with SiriusXM connectivity, Sync 3 system,
tire inflator and sealant kit, and a voice-activated, touchscreen navigation
system.
Offered in virtually new condition, this exceptionally well
equipped GT350R retains its window sticker and the red-accented ebony interior
is still protected by the factory-installed covers. Capable of amazing
