This 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is an exquisite example of
the third-generation run of Corvettes that would become known as the “Shark
generation,” the longest of all production cycles for a generation of
Corvettes. With its development beginning early on in the second-generation
run, the Mako shark-inspired Corvettes were intended to be far more than just a
reimagining of their midyear stablemates, and instead, an entirely new take on
the sport car persona. For 1969, small-block engine displacement was increased
from 327 to 350 CI, and this ’69 Corvette coupe features a correct 350/350 HP
small-block V-8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission, with power steering
and brakes ready to help keep every bit of horsepower under control. Its
Riverside Gold exterior with chrome Stingray badging above the front fender
vents is complemented well by its black interior, which features a tilt and
telescopic steering column, AM/FM radio and air conditioning, and its removable
rear window and T-tops are ready to provide passengers with a taste of open-air
motoring. Rolling on redline tires and having been stored in a
climate-controlled garage, this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is a wonderful
representation of the Corvette evolution that followed the midyear Sting Rays.
