Thompson Olds in Oak Lawn, Michigan. It is also listed as entry No. 128 in the
Hurst/Olds Registry and has been the subject of a frame-on restoration, which
has seen just 5,500 miles since completion. The Hurst/Olds is powered by the
W46-code 455 Oldsmobile Rocket V-8, which was rated at 380 HP at 5,000 RPM with
500 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 RPM with a 10.5:1 compression ratio and dual
exhausts. This engine features Casting No. 396021F, original D heads with

intake manifold, No. 405233, the original Rochester 29251 R1 carburetor rebuilt
by Sparky and the original air cleaner assembly with red base, as well as the
correct gray phosphate plated top with a metal flapper. The engine is connected
to a Turbo 400 transmission with Hurst Dual-Gate shifter, which transfers power
to the original 3.23 Anti-Slip differential rear end. Other features include
power steering and brakes, factory air conditioning and a properly functioning
AM/FM radio Stereophonic radio, underdash gauges, Rocket Rally Pac with sport
steering wheel, Oldsmobile Super Stock wheels mounting Goodyear Polyglas GT
F60-15 tires and correct T3 headlamps. Documentation for this Hurst/Olds
includes the original broadcast sheet, a copy of Hurst Corp and Demmer document
for conversion on April 16, 1969, by Demmer, and a binder that includes
documents and photos of the restoration process. It received a first-place
award at the Oldsmobile Nationals, and the original Collector’s Edition Program
from that event is included. With extensive documentation, a body-on
restoration and a first-place award at the Olds Nationals, this spectacular 1969
