Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport 2012, França

Upping the
ante over the original Veyron 16.4, the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport proved that
Bugatti could achieve what many thought to be unachievable and then raise their
own bar. Offering 1,200 horsepower and 1,500 Newton metres of torque, it was
capable of accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, arriving at 300 km/h in
16.6 seconds and achieving an electronically limited top speed of 413 km/h. In
order to add an additional 199 horsepower to the standard Veyron’s already
incredible power output of 1,001, two additional fuel pumps, as well as four
larger turbochargers and air coolers, were fitted. Additionally, the car
benefitted from improved aerodynamics, which helped to increase its stability
at high speeds and increase airflow to the engine and brakes.
Of the
forty-eight Veyron Super Sports built, the example presented here is chassis
number 11 and the very first Super Sport to be delivered to Germany. Ordered
new by its current owner, he took delivery in late 2011. Finished in two-tone
Bright White and Pearl Night Blue, the Veyron’s interior followed a similar
theme and utilized Indigo Blue leather with sections also trimmed in Pebble
Beach Blue.
Numerous
options were specified, including painted wheels and brake calipers, painted
door handles, painted oil and fuel caps, painted engine cover, and painted rear
deck inner surfaces, all of which were finished in blue. Furthermore, the owner
specified a two-tone Bugatti ‘horseshoe’ surrounding the iconic Bugatti
radiator grille, as well as two-tone NACA ducts and a two-tone rear wing.
Inside, the theme continues with numerous blue nano-coated parts and a painted
interior mirror.
Well-preserved
by its first and only owner, the Veyron has travelled just under 4,000 km from
new and presents in wonderful condition both inside and out. It retains its
original manuals and speed key, presented in its original carbon-fibre display
box, along with its HP iPAQ and car cover.
As arguably
the most impressive automobile built thus far into the 21st century, the
Bugatti Veyron is the gold standard of modern supercars, and the Super Sport is
perhaps the most desirable model, providing uncompromising performance and
welcome upgrades over the original Veyron. Boasting numerous options, presented
in tasteful colours, and offered from the collection of its original owner,
this Veyron checks all the right boxes and warrants serious consideration.
