Officially introduced at Detroit in 2014, the new Chevrolet
Corvette C7.R chalked up North American Endurance Cup Series wins at Long
Beach, Laguna Seca, Watkins Glen and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport).
Following victories scored in 2015 at the Daytona Rolex 24 and Sebring 12
Hours, Chevrolet launched the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition, honoring the
on-track achievements of Corvette Racing and the C7.Rs built by Pratt &
Miller and Chevrolet.
Interestingly, the debut of the Corvette
Z06 C7.R Edition came before Corvette Racing won the GTE-Pro class at the 2015
edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans that June. Just 500 examples were produced,
all bearing sequential serial numbers. All carried the Z06 option including the
6.2L/650 HP supercharged V-8 engine, suspension, brakes, aero and wheel
upgrades, plus the aerodynamic, brake, chassis and tire enhancements of the Z07
package to create the ultimate high-performance Corvette for the road. This
C7.R Edition also includes Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat paint, the C7.R
Edition graphics package, yellow brake calipers, black wheels with yellow
accent strips and Corvette Racing-logo center caps, visible carbon fiber ground
effects package and hood section, plus Spectra Gray Metallic grilles and vents.
The Jet-Black leather interior includes
suede microfiber accents on the instrument panel and doors, suede microfiber
trim for the Competition sport seats, steering wheel and shifter, yellow
contrast stitching throughout, high-gloss carbon fiber interior trim and
Corvette Racing sill plates. A special indoor car cover was also included with
C7.R graphics. In addition to dual-zone climate control, MyLink Bose audio,
navigation, heated and ventilated Napa leather seats and contrasting yellow
stitching, comfort and convenience items are too numerous to fully list.
Offered in virtually new condition with 6 miles since new, this 2016 Chevrolet
Corvette C7.R Edition is a rare one-of-500 example celebrating Corvette
Racing’s stunning victory record.
