Porsche 914 2.0 1976, Alemanha
Fotografia
In 1973, Porsche replaced the 914-6 flagship with a new
2.0-liter engine version of the model that won Motor Trend’s Import
Car of the Year in 1970. The new fuel-injected flat four-cylinder developed 99
hp and 118 pound-feet of torque, equaling the motive force of the venerated
flat-six it replaced. This beautifully restored 914 from the model’s final year
of production is an exceptional example of the increasingly collectible
Porsche.
According to the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this 914
2.0 completed assembly in late January 1976 and was specified for the US. It
was originally finished in Malaga Red over a dark red tartan cloth interior and
factory equipped with Sport equipment, including stabilizers and a spoiler,
light metal wheels, tinted side glass, and intermittent wipers. Currently
trimmed with a black vinyl interior complemented with dark red tartan cloth
seat inserts, and retaining its original 2.0-liter engine, this Porsche was
owned for many years by marque enthusiast Robert Avery. According to the
consignor, the 914 benefits from single ownership for most of its life and
retains most of its original factory paint, except for the doors and decklid.
The odometer currently reads 33,892 miles and is believed to be original
mileage.
The Porsche received significant mechanical attention over the
last few years, including new push rod tube seals and a rebuild of the brake
calipers in 2017. In 2019 the front brakes were further serviced with new pads
and rotors, as illustrated by invoices on file. The consignor reports the car
is mechanically superb and a delight to drive.
This beautifully presented 914 2.0 would make a fantastic
addition to any marque collection, ideal for display at Porsche events or
enjoyment on the open road for its brisk performance and capable handling.
