This 1958 Corvette is one of only 455 produced in Panama Yellow and packs a dual 4-barrel carburetor 283/270 HP V-8 engine under the hood. Dressed with finned valve covers, a Borg Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission captures the power for the rear wheels while an 8,000 RPM tachometer alerts drivers to engine speed. Equipped with an auxiliary hardtop, tinted windshield and clock, the car was produced without a radio or heater. Rolling on wide whitewall tires with spinner wheel covers, this Corvette benefits from a frame-on restoration and presents in lovely condition. The 1958 model-year Corvette featured a number of unique elements, such as a louvered hood, chrome-design rails upon the trunk lid, and it was the first year for quad headlights. By this time, Corvette had established itself as a mainstay for Chevrolet and GM, bringing customers the sports car they dreamed of with hints of the European formula but healthy dashes of American amenities, comforts and, above all, performance.
