Polar White with Blue interior
Finished in Polar White with a
blue stripe and interior, this 1970 Trans Am features a unique combination of
performance and luxury not often seen in such a purposeful muscle car. In
addition to its 400/335 HP Ram Air III V-8, heavy-duty suspension and fat
F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas tires mounted on 15x7-inch Rally II wheels, this Trans
Am also features a Turbo 400 automatic, air conditioning, and power steering
and brakes. The first year of the second-generation, the 1970 Firebirds were
perched on a new 108.2-inch wheelbase F-body chassis with coil springs up front
and leaf springs in the rear. The top-level Trans Ams received a road
racing-inspired suspension, quick-ratio steering and new aerodynamic upgrades
designed to produce downforce at speed. With a total production run of just
3,196 units in 1970, this Trans Am is an interestingly optioned example that
would still provide all the punch the early second-generation T/As were known
for with an additional level of comfort.
